Dragon’s Blood (Croton lechleri latex)
Description
origin: Where it Sangre de Grado comes from?
Sangre de Grado (also know as Dragon’s blood or sangre de drago) comes from an angiosperm plant known by the scientific name of Croton lechleri, this species is native to South America, mainly to countries such as Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Bolivia. It is well known by Amazonian cultures, which extract it in latex (this is its purest form, it is quite thick).
The natives of the place come very early (from 5 am) on an expedition searching for the dragon’s blood. They begin the extraction, in which they cut part of the bark of the tree “until part of its blood is thrown away.”
It is important to note that the responsible extraction of the grade blood does not cut down the tree directly; despite this, it takes much longer. At Gate Export, we care about making a responsible extraction of each natural element that we offer. It is for this reason that our grade blood orders can sometimes take time. Still, we guarantee that they are extracted without damaging a single leaf of our beautiful Amazon jungle
